Thinking of
joining?
|
|
|
 |
New members can be
assured of a very warm welcome whether you come with previous choral
experience or not. As things stand at the
present you will not be
subjected to an audition in order to join the choir, a desire to participate in choir matters
is sufficient. |
 |

Subscriptions, currently £15, are paid once
a term,
ie. roughly three times a year, to cover at least twelve
rehearsals. |
|
| |
Choir members
generally choose to purchase their own music at discounted rates
although the choir does keep a library of music books which may be hired
for a very nominal fee. |
|
| |
The selection of music
covers a wide range of styles from madrigals to 'pop', from oratorio to
operetta. It is hard to believe that anyone would not find much to their
liking. |
|
|
 |
Certain books contain
our standard repertoire which we refer to frequently (100 Carols For
Choirs, In The Mood, 24 Encores for Choirs, etc) but for 'one off'
performances the choir hires library scores.
A considerable amount of
music is specially arranged and reproduced free of charge. |
|
| |
The emphasis is very much on enjoying
singing but to this end we seek to improve standards so that our
audiences get as much pleasure as we do. One of the specialisms of
this group has always been unaccompanied singing (a capella). |
